  The ad’s point is to make people feel sympathy for the child in the image which can lead to them donating to the charity, the sad child creates an emotional response towards viewers. The advert is designed to make the audience think about access to clean watand encourage suhpport for WaterAid’s wor The advert uses a strong central image and places the WaterAid branding strikingly within the advertisement. The visual focus draws the audience towards the human impact of the issue rather than presenting lots of complicated information. They added the sad child to in a way guilt trip the viewer into donating. This is an example of imagery, emotive representation. I think it uses imagery because the text “dig toilets not graves” shows that so many kids are dying from lack of water/dehydration.
